Residential Fall Landscape
As the garden season closes, join Daphne Minner, owner of Growing Garden Habitats, at her home to see and discuss best practices for overwintering a pollinator garden. Her urban yard is cared for entirely by hand without power tools and contains 227 plant species (60% native to Massachusetts). This program will show you what "leave the leaves, save the stems" looks like in practice and will prime you for your spring clean-up strategies. We will observe the diverse birds, mammals, and insect species that utilize the leaves and stems typically removed in conventional gardens.
Beginner: No previous coursework or experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn.
