Queer Botany
Come spend an afternoon celebrating Pride Month and appreciating the diversity of native plants. Join a collaborative discussion with queer-identifying field botanists, horticulturalists, and plant scientists. Conversation will center on queerness in botany and native plants, considering their morphologies and life cycles viewed from the queer perspective. Following the discussion, we will break for lunch, then explore the garden in search of attributes of queerness in the plants we encounter. Although Queer Botany will focus on the LGBTQIA+ community, anyone is welcome to attend regardless of how they identify.
This event is a collaboration between Native Plant Trust and Flora, Fauna, & Fungi Ecological Resource Network.
