Orange Sallow Moth Survey at Horn Pond Mountain
Immerse yourself in a close study of plant-pollinator interactions in this one-of-a-kind field study. You will have a special opportunity to observe and survey orange sallow moth eggs and larvae, which depend on fern-leaved false foxglove (Aureolaria pedicularia). John Berkholtz, Senior Field Conservationist at Zoo New England, will facilitate this experience, and share details about the Field Conservation team’s broader efforts to survey for and grow several plants specifically to support rare moth and butterfly species that depend exclusively on them.
Intermediate: Participation in our Basic Certificate, experience with home gardening, or early-career professional in botany, horticulture, or conservation.
