Introduction to Mosses

A beginner’s introduction to bryophytes. We will be using lectures, slides, and hands-on activities to introduce you to the wonderful world of mosses and liverworts. We will talk about what they grow on, their structure and life cycle, and how we identify them in the field. We will spend some of the afternoon outdoors looking at some of our more common plants. Students will need a hand lens and notebook for drawing and note-taking.

Please note: We do not make video or audio recordings of classes or programs available after the fact, because we believe education is interactive, with instructors and students building a community and culture of learning.
