Asteracae: Eupatorium

The genus Eupatorium, commonly known as thoroughworts, is found throughout much of New England in a variety of upland and wetland habitats. It has recently undergone reclassifications at the genus and species level, which often rely on micromorphological characters.  This webinar provides students with a background to understand the rationale for splitting the genus and with the vocabulary necessary for species identification. Abundant close-up and habit-level photographs articulate the features of the new genera and provide a framework for understanding the species identification and ecology within New England.
