Aroostook River Shoreline
The Aroostook River in northern Maine is home to a unique assemblage of plants that are adapted to living on ice-scoured shorelines with underlying high-pH bedrock. More accessible than the similar St. John River farther north, the Aroostook River provides opportunities to learn about the Laurentian river shores and observe a wide array of plants of regional conservation concern. Join Native Plant Trust’s Senior Research Botanist Arthur Haines on a day-long field study to explore and revel in the botany of the north.
